• Energy Efficiency in Heritage Buildings

Recently Dayle gave a presentation as part of Anglia Ruskin University Summer CPD Series, the presentation looked at some of the opportunities and risks for improving energy efficiency in Heritage Buildings.

Covering the areass where the efficiency of a building can be improved but without compromise to the existing fabric, character and significance. By looking at previous examples of projects undertaken and a previous detailed study on roof insulation, Dayle discussed the issues of vapour permeability and condensation as well as the recent studies undertaken by SPAB looking at u-values in historic buildings.  Examples of the discussion points can be found by clicking here, with the supporting notes to accompany the presentation by clicking here.

If you have a historic building and would like to improve the thermal efficiency please get in touch for a discussion on what can be achieved.
